Newborn Photoshoots

Newborn tips and tricks!

Yeah after 9 months (well really 10) of cooking that sweet baby and waddling everywhere around they are finally here! Now what? Time to book your Newborn shoot.... It is always a good idea once you go into or being scheduled for labor you make sure you arrange with me for your shoot. Newborn shoots get scheduled in right away cause you really don't know when to expect that sweet bundle to arrive sometimes :)

NOTE** Newborns need to be photographer withing the first 2 weeks of babies life. Ideally between day 4 and 8 days old. Babies who are under 2 weeks sleep better when transferred from position to position. They tend to stay all curled up and asleep for photos. After who weeks it can pose problems with babies temper, baby acne, and there not quite as sleepy.

HERE ARE SOME HELPFUL TIPS FOR THE DAY OF YOUR SESSION:

- IT WILL BE WARM!!!! Babies need to feel warm and comfortable in the studio. It gets very toasty for everyone else involved but makes for the best shoots. Heaters, furnace and heating pads are used with the doors closed....dress ready to sweat!! If u need to change into an outfit for pictures with your baby I have a bathroom for you to do so.

-Make sure your bring the baby happy with a full tummy before you leave. If you have to feed baby during session no worries, I plan your time slot for this also. We want baby full as can be for happy photos :)

- Dress baby in loose fitting clothing to come in, easy to slip off. Babies will be naked for the first pictures then outfits after. Please bring any clothing you want not on   baby. We will do outfit changes during your shoot.

-Bring anything that is special to you and your family. Examples for this are:  heirlooms, blankets, hats, shoes.
A lot of the time if you have a hobby or career field that is important like firefighter, military, Police exc.  bring items related to that. Don't feel like you have to bring anything if you don't want to.... No pressure. They just make for memorable pictures.... I supply Props to but baby in and on plus hats and other fun items.

-Bring bottles, pacifiers (even if baby doesn't usually take one) once in certain positions sometimes it helps sooth them

- Attempt to give baby a few awake times during the morning or before your shoot.... they will sleep better during pictures later on.

- If you and hubby want to be involved in the photos bring or dress in your clothing. if you want to go for the "black on black backdrop look" make sure you all dress in black tops without logos or sayings.

-If you need to bring anyone else with you since Mom sometimes doesn't feel up to par still feel free to do so. It often helps with mom being able to just feed and relax while I play around with your sweet little bundle of joy!

Please contact me by e-mail if you have any certain questions I have not covered In these tips. This is such a fun time to capture and You won't be disappointing with choosing to get these photos of your Newborn baby :)
